1. What exactly does
the PharmaLocum.com website offer?
The Pharmalocum.com website offers
a virtual and widely accessible Internet platform
for the supply and demand of locum pharmacists
in Ireland . Once an employer has registered,
they can advertise an unlimited amount of locum jobs
on the site. Locum pharmacists can then screen the
concentrated job listing and select the job of their
choice. Pharmalocum will connect both ends of the
locum match by giving the locum's details to the
employer. For this connection, Pharmalocum charges
a flat fee of €75 per day. Pharmalocum is no
more than a retail pharmacist matchmaker and will
not engage in contract or salary negotiations between
the two parties.

for?
This website is geared to the Irish
retail pharmacy market where it provides a new and
alternative way of connecting community pharmacies
looking for a locum pharmacist for a specific date,
and pharmacists trying to find some extra locum work. .

3. Is this going to
cost me money?
Locum pharmacists can use this
website as a handy and all-inclusive tool to fill
their work agendas without cost.
Pharmacies are charged a registration
fee of €150 per annum which allows you unlimited advertising
of locum openings for a year. Pharmalocum will only
charge the employer a flat fee of €75 on condition
that a valid locum for the job has been selected. Emergency
placements (within 48 hours) cost €100 per day
for the connection. For a locum job of more than two
days, Pharmalocum will charge a reduced rate.

4. Do I have to register?
In order to make good use of this
site, pharmalocum recommends registration from the
very start as it takes no more than 2 minutes
and it will enable you to use the site to its full
potential . Pharmalocum conducts a strict
privacy policy and will not disclose any obtained
information to third parties.

5. How do I use the
Pharmalocum.com system?
To use this website to its full potential, both
locums and employers should register immediately
as it enables a faster and better match. It is a
short and simple 3-step process. You can easily access
and edit your given details at any time.
Locums can search through Pharmalocum job listings
and select a day and a location of interest. Pharmalocum
will then contact both locum and employer and both
parties can then finalise a work agreement. Pharmalocum
does not engage in salary negotiations. A finder's
fee is charged to the employer only when a locum match
is completed.

job listings, locum requests and possible job matches
with both employers and locums. As pharmalocum uses
the Internet for most of its business interactions,
the Internet will be our main communication tool.
But should you wish pharmalocum to contact you via
phone or fax, this can be arranged by choosing this
option at registration on the site.

8. What
rates does pharmalocum charge for a job-locum match?
For a regular locum match, pharmalocum will charge
the employer a flat fee of €75
per day. For an emergency placement – within 48 hours – pharmalocum
charges €100 per day. Employers are charged an
annual registration fee of €150.
Locums can access and use the site
free of charge at all times.

9. Who's
idea is this website?
My name is Tom Beurghs and I qualified
as a pharmacist in Antwerp (Belgium) in 1998. I have
been working as a locum pharmacist in Ireland for
over 4 years and like everybody involved in community
pharmacy, I soon realised that locums are in short
supply. Irish employers are desperately on the look
out for extra workforce in the Republic and have
broadened their search to the EU, Australia and New
Zealand. After completing an MBS in E-commerce in
2002, I decided to set up this website to create
transparency in the pharmacy locum market. The Internet
can be used to maximise locum availability as it
has vast advantages over traditional ways of communication.
